About Our Clinic
At EVE Surgical and Referral Center, our approach is straightforward: we provide the highest standard of surgical care while prioritizing the long-term health and performance of the horse. The center was founded by Dr. Caitlin Moreno and her husband, Matthew Moreno, to create a seamless path from diagnosis and treatment to total recovery.

Dr. Caitlin Moreno
Dr. Caitlin Moreno is a board-certified equine surgeon (DACVS-LA) who has developed her expertise in some of the most demanding clinical environments in the country. Following her graduation from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018, she completed two intensive internships—first at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky and then at Kansas State University. She went on to complete her surgical residency at The Ohio State University, where she also earned a Master’s in Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Dr. Moreno’s commitment to surgical excellence led her to remain at OSU as a faculty member for several years, where she performed complex surgeries and trained the next generation of equine specialists. She then decided to open EVE Surgical and Referral Center to serve the equine community on a more personal level.
